Splash ‘N Boots, the 2012 Children’s Music Group of the Year, recently released their latest album, Coconuts Don’t Fall Far From the Tree. Is their latest kids music CD groove-worthy?
Splash ‘N Boots Kids Music – Review
My kids and I enjoy listening to music in the car. I am always looking for music for my children that is upbeat, with catchy tunes and appropriate lyrics.
I was interested to learn that this latest CD is made up entirely from songs chosen by fans of the duo. Fans of Splash ‘N Boots chose everything about this album including the name of the album, titles of the songs and even some of the lyrics.
I love the titles of some of the songs on Coconuts Don’t Fall Far From the Tree. Phrases that I use for my children on a daily basis appear on the album including Okey Dokey Artichokey, Because Mommy Said So, Just Try One Bite You Might Like It (I use that one almost every meal) and recently Potty Party! I love being able to relate songs I sing with my children with aspects of our every day life.
Not only are the titles well chosen, but the lyrics are quite fitting also. I appreciate the fact that this album is created by their fans and for their fans! What a great way for Splash ‘N Boots to engage their listeners. My children, ages 4 and 2, had many giggle fits while listening to this CD in the car (Cutting the Cheese was particularly popular).
Each song is short, which works well with any child’s attention span, and maintains an upbeat tempo making these songs great for dancing!
