Mott’s Fruitsations Fruit and Veggie Snacks – Too Good To Be True?

What is it about a plastic package of chewy bits that drives kids absolutely crazy? Honestly, my kids go gaga over anything packaged and chewy, even the 1-year old knows that something he wants awaits him and he will literally try to chew his way into the box to get to the chewy insides!

With that said, I am constantly on the hunt for a healthier option from the generic brand chewy candy.

It is a bit of a tricky category, as most packages are indeed labelled as fruit chews, but aside from fruit flavour, there is no fruit to be found.

I thought I was in luck when I came across Mott’s Fruitsations Fruit and Veggie Snacks.

I thought for a moment that I might have found the product I was searching for, fruit and veggies in one, I would be perfect!

However, unfortunately the name is deceiving, as there is not really any real fruit or veggie ingredients in the product, save for some fruit and veggie juice blend from concentrate.

Mott's Fruitsations Fruit + Veggie Snacks

While the ingredients of Mott’s Fruitsations Fruit and Veggie Snacks are slightly better than some of the competition, I know there are still better options out there, plain and simple dehydrated fruit being a great option (just be aware of nitrates).

Truth be told, you will probably find Mott’s Fruitsations Fruit and Veggie Snacks in my pantry cupboard as while they aren’t the healthiest option out there, they are also far from the worst. But let me be perfectly clear, I do not classify these as a fruit or veggie option, they are definitely a treat!

Tell us: Do your kids have a favourite “special” treat?
